LOCATION: The village Preobrazhentsi is located in the municipality of Ruen, District Bourgas, South-Eastern part of Bulgaria. These places in VIII-VI in BC were inhabited by Thracian tribes. After a march of Khan Tervel in 705, they are already connected to Bulgaria. Through the village Passes Hadjyiska River, this flows into the Sunny Beach resort on the Black Sea. The old name of the village - Nader, now Preobrazhentsi has a long history. In the records is indicated that in 1640 the village had 27 Bulgarian families. Some pagan as “Pali basket”, “happy dog” ,”Kukeri day” very well indicate that the settlement has existed since ancient times, but not at the current place. Very accurate is the information about the village of Preobrazhentsi that is originated as a soldier settlement on behalf of the first Turkish governor in office, guarded the important road from Varna to Istanbul, which is passed through a small but very dangerous passage through the valley of the Dermendere River now Vodenichna River. Here was one of the most important Turkish positions. The first governor Turk was NADIR, from where later the village gets its name Nader. This name remains unchanged decades. Much gold found in the region of "Kale", shows, that it was buried to be hidden by the attacks on the village from bandits. There is a legend that there were buried two mules loaded with gold. By 1976, the village is named Nader and a decree of the Council of State headed by Todor Zhivkov was renamed village Preobrazhentsi because of the large exodus of refugees from Thrace after the Ilinden Uprising.
